Handy MFG CO/ Chicago ILL/ Pat'd Feb.7.05/Jan.23.06
These patents were issued to Herman A Knoke of Chicago IL; nothing
is known of the relationship between Knoke and Handy.
Known in 18 inch length. Notice that the screws do not ride nuts within the jaws. Rather, there are fixtures on the outside for the central spindle, and fixtures on the back for the terminal spindle.
The handles are approximately cylindrical, with flat ends, tapering slightly to the screws. There are ferrules where the screws are inserted.
This shows details of the fixture at the end of
the jaw holding the spindles. A strap wraps around the end of the
jaw, with two fingers. the fingers hold a cylindrical nut through
which the spindle passes.
It also shows the combined left and right threads on the metal spindles.
This shows details of the fixture at the middle of
the jaw holding the spindles. Again, a fixture holds a cylindrical
nut through which the spindle passes. The fixture allows at least 90
degrees of motion.
The significance of the "A3" on the casting is not known.
