Gothauer Clamp Co.

Gothauer is the only wooden clamp maker known west of the Mississippi.

Oklahoma City was founded in 1889, shortly after the Land Run. By 1890, there were city directories. Gothauer does not appear in any OK City directory from 1890 to 1950.

One explanation is that the firm existed only before 1890. Another is that the firm was too small or too transient to be entered in the directory.

Nothing is known of Gothauer, the firm or the person.
