This is a temporary solution to the problem: Where should these items go?

Unknown Swedish Maker of Wooden clamps used in boat building

This item was advertised on eBay, as item 1459138287:

A very fine item from the area around Orsa in Sweden and has been used in the building of church boats used on the area lakes. it is made of only wood the threads have been turned but the other details are all hand carved. The size is 20" long and 17" tall. from eBay description

Description of Clamps

thumbnail of whole clamp This is clearly not your usual wooden clamp. Presumably, the arrangement is adapted to the requirements of making church boats. Could a boat builder comment?

Marks

None observed by seller.

Jaws

One jaw is fixed, the other rides on the spindles. (I do not know how the fixed jaw was attached, whether by pegs, or nails. Small dots are visible, but can't be interpreted.)

Spindles

Note that the two spindles are parallel. Note also the use of shaped wooden nuts to hold the movable jaw in place.

I described the differences between hand cut and lathe cut threads; the seller believes these threads were hand cut.
